Remember like, 8 months ago when we used to have photo challenges? And we’d take a photo every half an hour of the day on a new day every month so we could make an album to show the kids what life was like before they could really recall much? I’m getting back into it. Starting tomorrow! Pumped. Who’s wimmeh?
A few of you contacted me re: my tired slump and shared that your cycles were returning when you had months of exhaustion. Well BAM my energy is back, and weeks later my first proper ovulation! I’m feeling so good I feel ready for #3, but alas, I’m going to wait it out a bit…I’m practically back to pre-baby weight now and did NOT really enjoy Summer pregnant last year. I’m going to rock out in a bikini (with a long sleeve rashie, thank you very much) and ride my yet-to-be-boughted retro bike with 2 babyseats on it allll summer long (after 4pm that is, cause dayum, the migraines have returned already thanks to bf+heat).
What else is going on. A wee wake up call in the death of an old friend has reminded me of what is important, and that I need to catch up with my loved ones and call my grandparents in NZ more. Today I included notes with SD’s lunch and I didn’t bother wasting paper…on my deathbead I won’t be pissed that a love note that didn’t wash off properly and was there as a constant reminder of my love for SD whenever I re-used it.
Our darling guinea pigs had to be re-surrendered to the Sanctuary as Lightning McQueen reached sexual maturity and was beating up poor Mr Biscuits. He had several abscesses as a result so they had to be separated (which meant cleaning TWO cages a day) and find new mates and I decided to leave that to the professionals. Was going to swap them for others, but was so attached to those boys I wanted to wait in hopes I could get one back with his new friend, but alas, they are so awesome they were rehomed (and Lightning desexed) instantly so I’m a little heartbroken. I enjoyed the work they brought, and I cried when we gave them back, but I must say life is less full on for me now without them…we moved here to simplify life, and even though they helped us minimise our bin load, baking my own bread and making everything from scratch and carrying SD’s weight around the house when his work is busy….it was taking it’s toll. At the moment, I have little support/help and there is SO much to do in this yard, my vegie patch (oh I haven’t taken photos of that!), selling my nappies, trying to be awesome, trying to get a little blog time, some me time…. too much on my plate. I look forward to having guinea pigs again, hopefully as kickass as Mr Biscuits (who would sit on SB’s lap for half an hour whilst he watched tv…sob).
After 7 months of searching, I finally found a second hand John Deere tractor for SB…..if you ever can’t find him, you know he’s outside sitting on it…
The cats are going great, they are sausagey, but I didn’t expect anything less.
Oh and I went blonde.
And SL has started signing again (but EC isn’t going so great – but that happens when she’s focussing on learning how to sign ‘bird’ and ‘trees’. And hey, she’s cute and it’s nice to get some use out of some gorgeous cloth nappies, eh?).
Life is great, busy, but we’re healthy and happy and I look forward to getting back into my monthly updates of the kids and editing some videos to share with you….
