Hey! I’m a 26yr old attached mother of a sausageboy (SB, 2.5yrs) & a little sausagegirl (SL, 3 months). I didn’t know about the aware/instinctive parenting movement until SB was 4 months old – I had tried aspects of mainstream parenting, but it wasn’t for me – so I was thrilled to learn that the natural parenting I had been doing for the most part was the right way to raise babies – and it’s been an enjoyable ride ever since!
Through diet and lifestyle changes, I flipped my PCOS the bird and fell pregnant first try after being told there was a good chance I couldn’t have babies naturally.
I often forget I am more than just a mother, when I do have free time I like to plan my dream wedding, dabble in body modifications, read/watch True Blood, draw, paint and grow mah own vegies.
I never thought I would be one of those crazy hippy mothers, but here I am – co-sleeping, full term breastfeeding, cloth nappying, ECing, BLWing, MCPing, placenta eating … and proud!
I created SM as I felt so isolated in my joy of parenting and the ways in which I did it. I never dreamed I would make such a successful & large support network for AP mothers – and boy, has it been a learning experience. I wish I had had access to this info before I got pregnant!
My first birth was awesome – or so I thought – until I made this page. I learnt about the traumatic, uneccesary intervention I’d unintentionally given consent to – as millions of other women are doing every day. My next goal in life was to have a drug free, intervention free birth second time around- something only 1 in 10 Western women are experiencing. And I did it – PAIN FREE thanks to hypnobirthing.
My plans (for taking over the world) include normalising (full term) breastfeeding & natural birth, educating & supporting mothers to learn their alternative options (that our conservative society does not expose us to), making/adopting more babies, buying a large commune and ya’ll can come live on it with me & we’ll live off the land while the rest of the world lives in dysfunction!
Have a look around, I have a wonderful team of Sausagettes sharing the load now as I enjoy my prime. I’ve dreamed about being a mother since I was 3 years old and I didn’t realise it could possibly exceed my expectations exponentially – thanks to the attachment parenting movement!
Sausagely yours,
SM
